Housing Authority Chair and Executive Director Take Heat From Tenants and Resident Association

- NEEDHAM, MA - Last week, there was a regular Monthly B meeting of the Needham Housing Authority Board of Commissioners at 5 PM Thursday, August 21, 2025 in the Community Room at 5 Chambers Street.   The Chair, Reg Foster, whose term is up for renewal, by the Governor, on May 7, 2026, as the one State appointed position on the NHA Board, attempted to coerce the current Local Tenant  Organization into a forced meeting with the NHA Executive Director, Cheryl Gosman.

The Chair, tired of hearing from the Residents on matters he felt should have been addressed by the Executive Director and not brought to the NHA Board, said, "It doesn't do any good to bring these matters up once a Month at a commissioners meeting."   He asked his Board to support an improvised ad hoc proposal to prevent the Resident Association from speaking at the next NHA meeting, if they had not met with the ED before hand.

Since the President of the Resident Association speaks for the Tenants, such a motion to restrict the independent participation of the Tenants Organization, could run afoul of the established by-law that allows, and requires, the President to be heard on agenda items.
