On Saturday morning, from 10am to noon, the mostly elderly residents of the Linden/Chambers Street apartments received their first of two COVID-19 injections. Their second shots will be in one Month, on Saturday April 3, 2021, at the same location. The community space has been shut down, under the new normal, but Saturday morning, it was crowded with as many as 25 people at a time ready for their shots. Under Phase 2 of the pandemic response, residents and staff of subsidized housing are now eligible.
The outside doors were opened, for people to come and go, but other than that, there was no ventilation and no windows were cracked for fresh air. Unlike last Mmnth at the Center At The Heights - where there was enough floor space for 6-8 foot separation - here, there was no real social distancing. Admittedly, the rules have not been codified for how buildings are to be operated. However, with the prospects of schools and public spaces opening in the next few months, its likely that, along with regular masks and social distancing, we will see new performance standards in our HVAC systems and in our buildings in general.
