The T-CHOC meets, for the first time, on Monday night, to begin to consider "the advisability of future investment" in the redevelopment of elderly housing on Linden and Chambers Streets.  As planned by the Needham Housing Authority (NHA), future funding may be on the order of $40-80 million.  The recent regular Town Meeting provided over $1 million of CPA funds for NHA 's predevelopment work, now ongoing.  Most recently, on November 1, 2023 the NHA met the deadline with an application to the Community Preservation Committee (CPC) for additional $6 million of Town Meeting money for Linden/Chambers and the other projects in the pipeline.   The T-CHOC will provide advice as to the appropriateness of the expenditure of Town funds.
